Things To Do, In and Around Tofino

Tofino Boating: Kayak, Canoe

Tofino is a great place to canoe or kayak. Calm water and lots of rugged nature!

For those of our guests with kayaks, canoes and similar small craft, Vista Hermosa offers protected storage at no extra charge next to the kayak launch ramp. This will give the opportunity to enjoy the magnificence and splendor of the surrounding Clayoquot Sound

Enjoy viewing the wildlife of Clayoquot Sound that have made the area a prime destination: Soaring eagles fly by the living room and seals are playing in the water of the harbour. Occasionally a pod of killer whales travels through Duffin Passage. Enjoy it all from your kayak and know that at the end of the day you can store your kayaks safely in our secure kayak boathouse.

This is what a Vista Hermosa visitor had to say: "I have been out on the water several times from the kayak launch ramp and when you round the bend of Meares Island you are virtually in virgin wilderness in the company of seals, otters, cormorants, eagles and deserted islets where you can beach, explore the shoreline or wander into the tranquil forest in search of a pristine glade...Words cannot express the feeling."
